The Ghana Presidential Jet Spotted Being Used By Another Ecowas President

The Ghana Presidential Jet controversy continues as it is seen being used by the president of Guinea-Bissau. Ghana’s presidential Falcon 900 EXE in a picture sighted by Pettvonline,is being used by Général Umaro El Mokhtar Sissoco Embaló who is currently at Sao Tome for the inauguration of the president elect of Sao Tome, Carlos Vila Nova.

In a facebook post by the Guinean president, the president bids his officials farewell while boarding the Ghana presidential jet [Falcon 900 EXE] to travel to Sao Tome and Principe today’s inauguration.

“His Excellency the President of the Republic, Army Général Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco is on his way to Sao Tome where he will participate tomorrow Saturday in the swearing-in ceremony of the elected president of this Lusophonic country, Carlos Vila Nova,” the Facebook post read.

The president in a new photograph was also seen disembarking the Ghana presidential jet,the Falcon 900 EXE which verifies the President of the Republic Army has arrived Sao Tome and Principe for the event.

Embaló on his official Facebook page posted a picture of his arrival at Sao Tome with the Falcon 900 EXE behind him. The post read,

“His Excellency the President of the Republic Army, Général Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco, arrived early this afternoon in São Tomé to attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Carlos Vila Nova.Upon arrival at São Tomé International Airport, the Head of State was greeted by Foreign Minister São Tomé and Príncipe, Edite Ten Jua.”

This is the second time the presidential jet has been used by another ECOWAS president. It was first spotted being used by the president of Liberia, George Manneh Weah to and from Ghana to attend the emergency ECOWAS which was held in Ghana,Accra after the Guinea coup.

The condition of the Falcon 900 EXE and cost of the recent travels of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has become a controversy lead by the member of parliament for North Tongu constituency, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The North Tongu MP has stated he needs answers on why the president has abandoned the Ghana presidential jet for a private which causes ‘financial burden” to the state in his recent travellings and he shall demand answers from the Interior Minister when parliament assumes from break.

According to the MP, it’s intentional by Nana Addo and his appointees to live a lavish life while they burden the Ghanaian taxpayer.

Hon. Ablakwa has also expressed worry on why the presidential jet is always given to other ECOWAS president while the President of the Republic of Ghana continues renting high rated private jets.
