ASEPA has filed a criminal complaint with the CID against Mr Boakye Agyarko, Mrs Gloria Akuffo And Mr Godfred Dame.

Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability, on Monday, June 28, 2021, filed a criminal complaint against Mr Boakye Agyarko, former minister of energy, Mrs Gloria Akuffo, former Attorney General and Mr Godfred Dame, the Attorney General for criminal negligence costing the state $170m judgement debt.

ASEPA is a Public Accountability Civil Organization that has been involved in critical issues since 2016. ASEPA has helped the fight against corruption in Ghana in many ways.

In the filed complaint, ASEPA alleges that Mr Boakye Agyarko, the immediate former minister of energy, terminated the GPGC contract based on an alleged review committee report which was exposed by the International Criminal court, which has landed the state a $170m judgement debt.

According to them, Mrs Gloria Akuffo the Attorney General at the time that contract was terminated, as a Principal advisor to the Government failed to honour the obligations of the State under the termination clause of the agreement.

They continued that, the Attorney General, Mr Godfred Dame, negligently failed to meet the appeal window that was made available to the State after the initial arbitration. Not only that, the state spent huge hiring UK based legal firm and an internal firm but still failed to meet the appeal which could reduce the judgment debt.

ASEPA however, believe that these officials deliberately conspired to cancel the agreement though it was of importance to the State. And the CID therefore should officially open an investigation against the conspiracy.
