“I Strongly Agree Paying Presidential Spouses” – Manasseh Azure Declares

Manasseh Azure clearly declares support to the payment of emoluments to presidential spouses. 

Whether it’s right or not to pay presidential has become a national trending issue as parliament approves it payment. Most Ghanaians, meanwhile, have shown disagreement on the issue.

However, Manasseh Azure Awuni, a popular investigative journalist and editor for the Fourth Estate has clearly shown support about the discourse. According to him, the partners of the various Presidents we’ve had always contribute highly to the development of the nation, therefore, they deserve the salary.

He explained that, these people have foundations that help national development, they forsake their initial businesses as Ghanaians will find a way to tag them with conflict of interest.

He continued that, Ghanaians were praising Mrs, Rebecca Akuffo Addo and Mrs. Samira Bawumia for projects executed by them but have now forgotten.

In his views, this payment has been there for a long time and we can not stop but can only formalize and regulate it. He said “what vwe cannot stop, let’s regulate, especially when the argument that ” they don’t do anything” isn’t true”
