Management of the Ghana Education Service has released scheduled dates for the school selection for candidates who sat for the just ended 2021 BECE.

Due to change in academic calendar and activities, candidates who sat for the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) were not able to choose their preferred Senior High Shools before writing the exams as it used to be.

However, management of Ghana Education Service has today, Monday 22nd November,2021 released a press statement about how it intends to roll out the 2021/22 school selection program.

According to the statement released,GES will first sensitize and educate the public on how the school selection will be done, the role of stakeholders (teachers, parents and candidates) and what to be expected.

Extracted from the press released, “This exercise will take place in all the respective Regional. District Education Directorates and schools.

Management wishes to inform all Stakeholders to watch out for infographics, short videos in nine Ghanaian languages, flyers and physical presence of officers in all Districts. communities and schools to embark on the sensitization drive.”

Selection of schools begins on 29th November,2021 after the public education and last for 16 days which ends on December 14, 2021.

“Again, there would be an opportunity for candidates to text to a short code and confirm their school choices before actual Placement will be done. Details of the short code will be made available in due course”, GES revealed.

Parents and guardians are advised by the Ghana Education Service to pay keen interest in selection of schools for their wards
