ExpressPay is the leading Fintech company in Ghana, with an innovative platform that simplifies the payment of services, bills, goods and also provides a real-time interoperable money transfer service.

We are looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer responsible for managing the interchange of data between servers and front-end interfaces.

Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well

Job Core Duties – expressPay Ghana job vacancy

Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging

Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic

Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability

Implement security and data protection solution

Design and implement data storage solutions

Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features

Skills and Qualifications

3 + years working experience in Back-End Development
Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
Proficient knowledge of PHP
Hands–on experience with programming languages like Java, Ruby and Python is an advantage
Working knowledge of CMS framework
Excellent analytical and time management skills
Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT
